The process of professionally arranging a room involves far more than just the placement of the furniture. Carlson Homescapes uses comprehensive training techniques to bring out the potential in every room. When arranging a room, we first completely clear the space. Next, we consider all aspects of design to not only place the furniture but also the artwork, accessories and lighting. These details and the trained eye can make all the difference! We can help you look at your room in a fresh and new way. However, if you'd just like advice on a room we do offer consultations to discuss any decorating dilemmas.

The answer to this is almost anyone! You might be in a new house and feel overwhelmed with your blank walls. You might be a homeowner without the time or expertise to finish your rooms. You might have the house and furniture you like but dislike the way your rooms look. You might have just gotten married and need to blend your furnishings. You might be ready to buy all new things because you can't get the look you want with what you have. You want a designer look without spending designer prices. The list goes on!

Makeovers take between 3-6 hours and typically homeowners are asked to be away from home while the magic takes place. By being away, they can enter their new room and experience the full effect. Plus, it's a great surprise to come home from work or even a day at the spa and see a completely transformed space. You'll feel like you're on one of those popular decorating shows.

Absolutely! Your belongings tell your story and we strive to infuse exactly what you want into your room. During the home preview process you will be ask a lot of questions to help us better understand your style, your lifestyle and the use of the room. Even if we shop for you, we take your personal preference and budget into every purchase we make. It's your room and we want to make it as comfortable and suited to your tastes as possible.

Most artwork is viewed while seated in a room, so take that into consideration when hanging pictures. Hanging them lower creates intimacy in a room and visually links them to the furniture so they don’t look like they are floating.

A great way to display all your photos is to frame them in similar frames. This creates a gallery look that can be added to whenever you like without looking too cluttered.

When displaying accessories remember to vary your shapes and heights…A tall candlestick, a shiny round bowl and a chunky green plant would do the trick. In other words, one vertical, one horizontal and one bulky item bring harmony to any accessory arrangement.

While it is true that mirrors can trick the eye always remember to look at what your mirror is reflecting…a ceiling is not a great reflection. Consider putting a vase of grasses or tall candlesticks in front of the mirror so the reflection is beautiful.
